About Our Daycare
Our centre is licensed by Fraser Health to provide childcare for children under 36 months old. Our centre is located in North Burnaby, BC.
The program at Dreamland infant and toddler daycare is designed to meet children's individual social, emotional, physical, and cognitive developmental needs. We strive to provide each child with all the essential tools for life-long learning.
We run five days a week at both locations opening at 8:15 a.m. and closing at 5:15 p.m. Our ratio is one teacher for four children.
Our Programs
- 8:15 - 8:45 Morning Free Play
- 8:45 - 9:00 Morning Diaper Changes/Potty Time/wash up
- 9:00 - 9:20 Nutritious Snack Time (Fruit, Vegetables, yogurt, drink, etc.)
- 9:25 - 9:45 Arts and craft
- 9:50 - 10:00 Circle Time (Finger play, music/movement, flannel board stories, Mandarin class etc)
- 10:10 - 11:10 Outdoor/Indoor gross motor play/short walks
- 11:10 - 11:20 Wash Hands
- 11:20 - 11:50 Lunch Time (Water/Milk)
- 12:00 - 12:15 2nd Diaper changes/Potty time/wash up
- 12:15 - 12:30 Quiet Time / Book Reading / Bed Set up
- 12:30 - 3:00 Nap time
- 3:00 - 3:20 Afternoon Snack
- 3:20 - 3:35 3rd diaper change/potty Time/wash up
- 3:40 - 4:00 Music and Movement
- 4:05 - 5:10 Outdoor Play
- 5:10 - 5:15 Tidy up- close The children will play on the deck with lighting on dark winter afternoons.
There is no fees reduction for statutory holidays. This pertains to the following days:
- New Year’s Day
- Family Day
- Good Friday
- Easter Monday
- Victoria Day
- Canada Day
- B.C. Day
- Labour Day
- National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
- Thanksgiving Day
- Remembrance Day
- Christmas Eve day (1/2 day)
- Christmas Day
Christmas Week - our centres are closed between Christmas Day and New Years Day.
Our Philosophy
High Quality Daycare
At Dreamland infant and toddler daycare centre our philosophy is to provide a safe, caring and positive environment for each child so the child is able to explore, develop, and grow according to his/her own individual stage of development and personality.
We believe that every child is to be respected as an individual and a member of the group. We also support the positive relationships between children, families, and staff. Our goals is to foster the development of a positive self-image and to build confidence in our children through playing. Therefore, we provide program that support the children’s emotional, social, creative, cognitive and physical growth and development.
To ensure our quality of service we have a team of qualified skilled ECE and Infants and toddlers teachers. Staff are entitled to open communication and opportunities for profession growth within a supportive and professional work environment. Moreover, we offer to our daycare children the opportunity to learn Mandarin through daily activities. The children participate in the outdoor play every day.
